    • Part 1 consists of multiple-choice questions. You will be given a maximum of one hour to complete the multiple-choice part of the exam. Part 1 is closed-book, closed-note. No calculators will be allowed.
    • Part 2 consists of problems to be solved. This part is closed-book, but you will be allowed to use three 8.5 x 11 inch sheets of notes (both sides). Calculators are allowed for this part.
Note that some additional practice problems have been posted on the Assignments page. These problems are not to be turned in, but you may find them useful in studying for the exam. Solutions have been posted on the Solutions page.

  • Problem Set 9 and Matlab Project V have been posted. You will work in the same groups on Project V as you did on Project IV. Note that the due date for PS9 is December 6. This is a change from the original syllabus. The syllabus page has been updated to reflect this minor change. Project V is due on the last day of class (December 8).

  • The pltdefaults.m file can be used to reset Matlab's default plot font sizes and line thicknesses. You may find this useful in generating the plots for your team's presentation of Project IV.

  • Matlab Project IV has been posted. You will work in teams on this project. See this file for a list of team assignments. Note that you will work with your new team on in-class problems starting on 11/8/05.

  • 10/18/05: The Matlab Project 3 Questions and Answers page contains hints for Project 3. As individual students or groups email in questions about the project, the answers will be posted on this page. Note: The questions will be posted, but the page will not identify the students who asked them. This page will be updated as new questions are asked.
