Overview
The Ocean Acoustic Signal Processing (OASP) Research Group is affiliated with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at George Mason University. Professor Kathleen Wage and her graduate students work on multi-disciplinary problems that require a synthesis of array processing, acoustics, and oceanography. Their current research focuses on the related problems of characterizing acoustic fluctuations and designing signal processors that are robust to those fluctuations. The group's ocean research is funded by the Office of Naval Research. Additional funding from the National Science Foundation supports work on assessment methods for engineering education.
