Welcome to the Neuroimaging Laboratory in the Department of Bioengineering at the George Mason University. The Neuroimaging Laboratory is the research home for faculty and students from the Departments of Bioengineering and of Electrical and Computer Engineering at GMU. Over the summer, we also host several students from local high schools as part of the ASSIP program.
Our research interests are in the fields of MRI image processing, in which we are looking at novel techniques for describing brain lesion evolution and for osteoporosis detection; video analytics, aiming at the development of a video-based stressor identification system; and differentiated learning techniques for engineering education.
The Neuroimaging Laboratory is directed by Vicky Ikonomidou, PhD, Assistant Professor of Bioengineering.
